Gatsby's
Sire:
Gonzo
I
In
the realm of show jumping, Gonzo I's pedigree is impeccable. His dam is a
full sister to the legendary Deister, who in one decade with the Olympian
Paul Schockemoehle, amassed $1.5 million in earnings, winning an Olympic
Silver medal, four German National Championships and three European
Championships. Gonzo I's sire, Gepard, produced well-known Hunter sire All
the Gold and 12 Grand Prix show jumpers. His grandsire, Gotthard, is the
most famous jumping sire in the Hanoverian breed.
Gonzo I proved his jumping heritage with success in the Open and Puissance
Divisions under Olympian Frank Sloothak. He also competed through Fourth
Level Dressage. His offspring are much sought after by
professionals and amateurs in all disciplines, both for their versatility
and their great temperaments, another wonderful trait Gonzo was well known
for. This
great horse also produced several States Premium mares in Germany, and his
German FN recorded Dressage Production Index (for offspring) now equals
his Jumping Production Index. In
other words, Gonzo I's offspring are excelling in both Show Jumping and
Dressage. He also produced numerous premium foals after he was imported to
America
in 1995.
Gatsby is only one of two known stallion sons of Gonzo I currently
standing in the United States. We are proud and excited to
be able to offer to the world of American sport horse breeding these
older, rare, and exceptional bloodlines descending from a unique and
exceptionally successful line of elite G-line Hanoverians.

Gatsby's
Dam Line:
Seattle
Slew ... Hawaii ... Nashua
We are very proud of Gatsby’s Thoroughbred heritage on his dam’s
side. Descending from the
famous and legendary Seattle Slew, who is still to this day, the first
and only undefeated Triple Crown winner in American history.
Seattle Slew was known for his intelligence, heart, courage, and
obvious athletic superiority.
Gatsby’s
great grandsire,
Hawaii,
was the sire of
Molokai,
who was the Individual Silver Medalist at the 1994 World Equestrian
Games in eventing and placed 2nd in the 1998 4 star Rolex
event.
The
Thoroughbred influence in Gatsby's bloodlines brings a consistent level of class, tradition,
conformational refinement, and those classic Thoroughbred traits of
heart and toughness to the foals he produces.
